I am Anna, mom of 2 wonderful kids + 1 furry being with a big passion for food, health and plant-based eating. Originally I am from Germany but for the last 15+ years I have lived in the US, Panama and since 3 years now very happily settled in Portugal.

TNC: How would you describe eat well, feel well? 

Anna: Eat Well. Feel Well. is a plant-based nutrition poster meant to help anyone to get an easy overview of all the goodness that plants like vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts and seeds offer. From learning the dose of vitamins and minerals in each food; easy access to the nutritional information of each plant, like protein, fat, fiber and carbohydrates; to understanding the role of each vitamin and mineral.  Its like an at-a-glance reference to hang in your kitchen, to learn and grow from or to give it away as a gift. 


TNC: When did you turn Vegan and why? 

Anna: I gave up meat about 14 years ago, when I started a new career in the US. It was pretty standard at our office that everyone would bring their own lunch everyday. One of my co-workers was vegetarian and showed me that delicious + easy meals do not need to include meat. How simple and almost silly that sounds today! She gave me the inspiration I needed for new recipes therefore I finally felt like, "I CAN DO IT.” And since then I never looked back.


And then in 2018 I cut out all animal products [ although once in a while I can’t resist a good croissant  ]. Books, cookbooks, blogs and podcasts have given me the knowledge, inspiration and gratitude which has moved me towards a plant-based diet. In 2017 I started a one-year program to become a Health Coach @ IIN [  Institute of Integrative Nutrition ] to further deepen my understanding of nutrition. I loved every minute of it and it showed me that we as individuals have the power to nourish our bodies. We only have one body, better to treat it with knowledge, respect and care.

TNC: which tips would you like to share for people who want to reduce animal products ? 

Anna: Start by picking out 5-10 recipes you would love to try and replace 1 meal a day. Keep this habit for several weeks. Watching documentaries  [ The Game Changers, Forks over knives, What the health, Cowspiracy, Food Inc. ] helped me enormously too. The visual force has some extra power. 

TNL: Two things you do daily to make you motivated ? 

Anna: I start my day with a breathing meditation, sometimes 10 minutes, on weekends - if I am lucky and in the mood - 20 min. And daily movement, usually a Melissa Wood workout. Can’t live without. 

TNC: Your passion? 

Anna: Food. Food. Food. But also ceramics, traveling, painting, interior design and podcasts. 

TNC: Can you recall a moment in your life that NUDGED you the most?

Anna: When I became a mom for the first time, the realization to really be responsible for another human being and there is no turning back.

TNC: What nudge do you recommend for others to push themselves to do better or to break the routine ? 

Anna: To believe in yourself that you are worth it.
